Genealogy is another reason I scrapbook. All those old pictures. To help keep that old world feel I have done a few pages with a quilt theme.
Using the Hexagon Maker by Creative Memories www.creativememories.com I punched out of several sheets of paper. I tried to use paper with small patterns so that more would show up on the punch. I also took a pen & made a dotted line around each hexagon to show stitching. This went faster than you would think it would. The blue frame around the page has the journaling. The picture is George Moore my Great-Grandfather. Born July 1850 in Penn, Married 1874 & died 1942.
Here I cut squares that I had punched to look like a quilt. I printed the important information on velum and attached it with brads to a light purple and a dark purple frame. The house was located in Dunkirk Indiana around the 1930’s.
